Fire broke out in the electrical riser on the seventh, eighth and ninth storey of Block 443 Yishun Avenue 11 in the wee hours of Jan 26.

Sharing videos of the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at the scene, he said he saw two police vehicles, four fire engines, two Red Rhinos and two ambulances.

In response to a Stomp query, SCDF said it was alerted to the fire at about 12.45am.

The fires on the seventh and ninth storey burnt themself out before SCDF’s arrival while the fire on the eighth storey was extinguished with a dry powder extinguisher.

There were no reported injuries.

A spokesperson for Nee Soon Town Council told The Straits Times that it was alerted to the incident at 2.50am.

The power outage affected a few units on each floor of the block.

An SP Group spokesperson said on Jan 27 that its electricity meters and network were in order.

SCDF said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
