Why Clementi Mall was 'super abnormal' and in darkness early Tuesday morning

A man was concerned that Clementi Mall was closed with no lights on early in the morning on Nov 28.

Stomper Darren was there at 6.55am and wondered what happened.

"Clementi Mall was super abnormal as it was totally closed and in darkness," said the Stomper.

"Typically, it would be already open by then with some lights on."

Someone posted on Reddit a photo of a security guard behind a barrier at the mall entrance.

Commenters speculated that it was a blackout.

In response to a Stomp query, a Clementi Mall spokesperson said the mall was operating as usual on the day.

"There were some maintenance works done after the mall closed late the night before, but we have since completed the works and are operating as usual since the morning from 7.30am," said the spokesperson.

A Redditor later commented on the photo: "No wonder today BreadTalk had only a handful of choices. Some BreadTalk lady said they opened only at 8am."
