A woman was taken to hospital after suffering a fall in Chinatown on Monday afternoon (Dec 2).

Stomper Tom witnessed the incident, which occurred outside Chinatown MRT station and near a Bee Cheng Hiang store.

Tom said he helped to stop the woman's bleeding while they were waiting for the ambulance.

He recounted: "The woman was with her husband. I took over and helped to stop the bleeding as I have first-aid training and everyone else was scared of blood."

Tom also shared photos of the woman on a stretcher and being taken away in an ambulance.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for assistance near 211 New Bridge Road at around 4.15pm and conveyed one person to Singapore General Hospital, it told Stomp in response to queries.
