Watch shocking moment driver crashes into car on PIE, causing chain collision

A 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital after a chain collision involving four cars on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on Jan 3.

Several Stompers alerted Stomp to a video circulating online of the incident.

In the video, a silver Hyundai is seen ramming into the back of the vehicle with the in-car camera.

The Hyundai is seen lurching forward again from the impact of another car crashing into its rear.

Screams can be heard in the background.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving four cars along the PIE towards Changi Airport at 8.38am.

"A 46-year-old female passenger was conscious when conveyed to Changi General Hospital," a police spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
