Car driver arrested, elderly motorcyclist taken to hospital after chain collision on SLE

A 23-year-old man was arrested for careless driving following a chain collision involving five vehicles along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Tuesday morning (Jan 7).

The police told Stomp that they were alerted to the accident involving two vans, two cars and a motorcycle along the SLE, towards the Central Expressway (CTE), at 9.22am.

The 64-year-old male motorcyclist was conscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

"A 23-year-old male car driver was subsequently arrested for careless driving," added the police.

A video posted by Facebook page SG Road Vigilante shows the pile-up.

The motorcyclist can also be seen being thrown off his bike.

Police investigations are ongoing.
