Victim's fingertip cut off by weapon in Bukit Batok, man arrested for alleged assault

The police have arrested a 50-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.

On Sunday (June 30) at about 9.50pm, the police were alerted to a case of assault against a 53-year-old man along Bukit Batok Street 31. 

The victim's right middle fingertip was cut off by the suspect.

With investigations and police cameras, officers from the Jurong Police Division identified the man and arrested him on Tuesday (July 2). 

The suspect will be charged in court on Thursday (July 4).

If convicted, he could face a jail term of up to 15 years or for life, and also be punished with a fine or caning.
