Is it an accident waiting to happen?

Because of rectification works, debris was strewn at the foot of Blocks 122 and 123 Pending Road in Bukit Panjang.

While a warning tape and a couple of pylons were placed to alert people of the potential hazard, a cyclist almost rode into the area on June 30, according to Stomper Raven.

Sharing photos of the scene, he told Stomp: "There must be proper signage or early notice in place. The repair works on the ground floor are an accident about to happen any time a cyclist is unaware of the danger. Fortunately, the cyclist braked in time. I hope that something can be done to prevent any incident."

In response to a Stomp query, Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council said it sincerely apologised for the cited lack of proper signage or warning sign in place at the specific blocks.

It added: "Residents’ safety is our top priority. The town council has issued a stern warning and counselled the contractor involved in the rectification works. Thank you for your patience and forbearance."
