Rivervale Drive resident advised to remove planks and laundry from common areas: Town council

The town council has advised a resident to remove her wooden planks and laundry from common areas at Block 146 Rivervale Drive, a spokesman said following a Stomp report.

In a report on Thursday (Dec 19), Stomper Anonymous shared photos showing the woman surrounded by wooden planks, a laundry rack and other bulky items at the lift lobby on the 13th floor.

Numerous planks can be seen erected along the corridor and near the staircase too.

Citing safety concerns, Anonymous said this had been going on for three weeks.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Pasir Ris - Punggol Town Council said it has advised the resident to remove the laundry and planks from common property.

The spokesman added: "Our town council would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents not to place their personal belongings at the common property as they may pose as potential fire hazards and obstruct escape routes during an emergency."
