It was all fun and games for a group of people having a New Year's Eve party in Chinatown, until their celebrations were cut short with the arrival of the police.

Stomper M said the incident occurred at Chinatown's Garden Link Bridge on December 31, at around 8.30pm.

M, a passer-by, shared photos and videos showing numerous people seated at tables while police officers went round taking down their particulars.

Bottles of alcohol, disposable cups and snacks can also be seen on a table.

M said: "Everyone left after the police took down their details."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 1 Park Road at 8.26pm.

The parties were advised accordingly and no further police assistance was required.
