Stomper Kennedy was meeting his Member of Parliament (MP) Mr Yee Chia Hsing for advice during a Meet-the-People session  at Jurong West on Monday night (Feb 18) when they were alerted to an accident that had occurred nearby.

A 69-year-old woman had been hit by a car along Jurong West Street 91 towards Pioneer Road North.

"During my consultancy session, a member of public rushed in and shouted that an old lady had been knocked down by a car and was bleeding profusely outside his office at Block 953 Jurong West Street 91," said the Stomper.

"Mr Yee immediately halted the session and rushed to the scene.

"He requested a member of public call an ambulance while he got items from his office for the victim to rest and a towel to allow the woman's husband to protect her while waiting for the ambulance."

In photos Kennedy shared, the woman is seen sitting on the sidewalk as people gather around her.

The car's left side mirror had become dislodged.

Kennedy was touched at his MP's actions and commended him for how fast he reacted and how he handled the situation.

"It showed how Mr Yee cares for the residents of that area and his heartfelt action during that moment was an inspiration for us all.

"His first intention was to help the old lady who owns a small shop in his area.

"I wish the victim a speedy recovery."

In response to a Stomp media query, the police said they were alerted to the accident involving a car and a pedestrian at about 9.34pm.

The pedestrian, a 69-year-old woman, was conscious when taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, said a spokesman.

Police investigations are ongoing.
