61-year-old car driver arrested for careless driving after accident with motorcycle at Yishun junction

A 61-year-old man has been arrested for careless driving causing hurt after the car he was driving collided with a motorcycle at the junction of Yishun Avenue 2 and Yishun Ring Road on Tuesday morning (Oct 24).

A 31-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital.

Stompers Janelle and Kohji alerted Stomp to the incident that happened near Khatib MRT Station.

In photos shared by the Stompers, passers-by are seen offering their assistance and paramedics are at the scene.

A motorcycle is lying on its side in the middle of the junction next to a car with debris scattered on the road.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at about 10.51am.

"A 31-year-old male motorcyclist was conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesperson said.

"A 61-year-old male car driver was arrested for careless driving causing hurt."

Police investigations are ongoing.
