Pillion rider dies after getting run over by truck that had no time to brake at Jurong Town Hall Road

A 38-year-old female pillion rider died in an accident with a tipper truck on Wednesday morning (Oct 18).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a motorcycle and a tipper truck along Jurong Town Hall Road towards Bukit Batok Road at 7.40am.

The pillion rider was pronounced dead at scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.

The motorcyclist, also 38, was conscious when taken to hospital. He reportedly suffered injuries to his arms and legs.

According to Shin Min Daily News, both riders were flung off their motorcycle after the collision.

The manager of the company that the lorry belonged to said that the vehicle had no time to brake and ran over the woman.

Police investigations are ongoing.
