Man arrested after hitting taxi and crashing into Geylang shop, employee taken to hospital

A man was arrested for drink driving and careless driving after crashing his car in Geylang in the early hours of Wednesday (Dec 14).

The police told Stomp that they were alerted to an accident where a car had collided into the rear of a taxi and subsequently hit a shop front along 345 Geylang Road at around 1.20am.

A 32-year-old male shop assistant was conscious when taken to hospital.

The police added: "A 43-year-old male car driver was arrested for suspected drink driving and careless driving causing hurt."

Stomper Watson shared a video and a photo of the accident scene, which had been cordoned off by the police. A damaged black car can be seen getting towed away.

Police investigations are ongoing.
