It was a narrow escape for several parties whose vehicles were involved in a chain collision in Geylang on Saturday afternoon (Dec 10).

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The police told Stomp that they were alerted to an accident involving a lorry, a stationary car and a stationary personal mobility device (PMD) along Guillemard Road towards Tanjong Katong Road at 1.19pm.

Stomper L captured the incident – which he said occurred outside of City Plaza at around 12.45pm – on his car's rear camera.

He said: "The lorry driver suddenly lost control of the lorry and charged forward into a Grab deliveryman's PMD before mounting the kerb, hitting a Malaysia-registered car, and crashing into a solar panel sign and a grey electrical box.

"The driver of a grey Honda managed to swerve in time, just so slightly allowing the lorry to avoid hitting her car.

"The Grab deliveryman came back shocked, asking what happened to his bike and finding it crushed under the lorry and the Malaysian-registered car. Luckily, he was not on the bike or he might have been crushed.

"The lorry driver was a foreign worker and was also unhurt."

A video that L sent to Stomp shows the lorry ramming into the PMD just as the Honda driver got out of the way in time.

Loud crashes and the screeching of tyres can be heard.

A photo taken by the Stomper shows the lorry on a pavement, next to the car that it had hit. A wheel, presumably from the PMD, can be seen wedged underneath.

Police investigations are ongoing.
