Malaysian man allegedly raped sister-in-law on several occasions as wife slept in the same house

A 39-year-old Malaysian man allegedly raped his sister-in-law, 19, on several occasions in the family’s village home in the town of Beluran, Malaysia.

According to the victim, the man allegedly began raping her in March this year and continued to do so on several occasions after that, reports New Straits Times

On Monday (July 16), the victim lodged a report at the district police headquarters.

She said that the suspect would often sneak into her room and rape her as his wife was sleeping.

During her ordeal, the family home was occupied by the victim, her sister and her husband, his mother as well as the couple’s child.

The suspect also reportedly threatened to harm the victim if she told anyone about the abuse.

He has since been arrested by the police.

Sabah police chief Datuk Ramli Din said that the case was currently being investigated.

If convicted, the man faces a maximum of 20 years in jail and caning.
