He wanted to be the Man of Steel.
Who knew his Lex Luthor would turn out to be a Lazada seller?
Stomper J is frustrated with the e-commerce platform after it foiled his plan to dress up as the last son of Krypton for Halloween.
"I ordered a Superman costume from a seller called No Regrets Sports & Outdoors on the Lazada platform on Oct 9, which cost $90," recounted the Stomper.
"On Oct 16, the item was delivered to my letterbox. When I checked, I was shocked by what was delivered instead. It was a small and tiny Minion figurine."
Judging by the photo the Stomper shared, it looked more like a cheap knock-off of a Minion figurine.
The Stomper said: "Sellers do this when they oversell and have no stock to send to the customers to avoid getting a 'no item received' status, which would make them get bad ratings. It's a cheap ploy.
"When I asked the seller four times what was going on, I received what I guess was an automated reply. I then went on Lazada’s Live Agent chat to lodge a complaint.
"The agent’s first reply to me was simply to ask for a refund! I was furious and told the agent off. Simply asking me to get a refund was a cheap and lazy way to settle the problem as I ordered the item for a reason and I needed it.
"Being a buying and selling platform, Lazada needs to take a serious view of this as we buyers put a lot of faith in them to acquire our stuff.
"After I told the agent off, only then she said she would 'escalate' the matter.
"Within 30 minutes, I received an email stating they couldn't do anything but asked me to get a refund for the item.
"This is really an irresponsible seller and a lazy platform!
"Now my Halloween plan has been thwarted and I have to rush and buy another costume."
In response to a Stomp query, a Lazada spokesperson said: "We have looked into the matter and issued a refund to the customer, and apologise for the customer's experience.
"We take this matter very seriously and have taken down the seller."
