Kind SMRT bus captain goes beyond the call of duty to help elderly commuter

A man was touched to see a bus captain going the extra mile and taking the time to help an elderly commuter.

Stomper Jun said he was travelling on SMRT bus service 187 on Sunday (March 28) when he witnessed the heartwarming sight.

An elderly man, who can be seen holding a walking frame, had wanted to boarded the bus at Block 331 Bukit Batok Street 33 at around 2.58pm.

The bus captain swiftly rushed to his aid.

He also rendered assistance when the man wanted to alight at Parc Oasis condominium in Jurong East.

Jun recounted: "I would like to thank this bus captain on service 187 (SMB1425L) for helping an old uncle with mobility issues to board the bus.

"As seen in the pictures, there was already someone helping the man but the bus captain took the initiative to step out and help him out despite him having a schedule to follow. It was really kind of him to do that."
