A Stomper was out with his friends at Newton Food Centre on Aug 9 at about 2am when he saw a fleet of modified cars that were tailed by the Traffic Police (TP).

He said: "I was standing in the carpark when I saw the modified cars turning in, tailed by the TP. There were also Land Transport Authority (LTA) officers present. They were checking the cars.

"The entry and exit of the carpark were also cordoned off."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said that it was alerted at 1.30am, to a case of traffic obstruction that occurred at 500 Clemenceau Avenue North.

On arrival, vehicles at the location were seen to be parked within the lots in the carpark in an orderly manner.

After routine screening checks, TP officers issued road safety advisories to the road users present.

Officers from LTA who responded to the case with TP, conducted checks on the vehicles and summons related to illegal modifications were issued.
