Eating out can be expensive, but there are still good deals that will give you bang for your buck.

A coffee shop at Block 322 Hougang Avenue 5 has just reopened after renovations and appears to be drawing large crowds.

A resident living in the area, who wished to remain anonymous, alerted Stomp to how the drinks stall at Yen Fei Lai Eating House is offering hot beverages at just $0.50 each.

The grand opening promotion, which will run until the end of June, applies to kopi, kopi-o, teh and teh-o.

Sharing photos of the busy coffee shop, the Stomper said: "It was quite crowded as the place just opened.

"I drank teh and it was not bad! Usually if it's $0.50, it's maybe for kopi-o or teh-o, because adding milk will be another cost. But surprisingly, they offered these four choices of drinks.

"I have yet to try the food, but some of the new stalls such as Roasted Delight, JWS Western and Kway Chap look good.

"Nowadays, hot drinks at coffee shops are around $1.20 to $1.70 which can be quite costly, so I hope to share this promo with Hougang residents or anyone passing by the area while it lasts.

"Sharing is caring, we care about our pocket money."
