When Don Don Donki opened its newest outlet at Northpoint City in Yishun on Thursday (Oct 6), shoppers came down in droves.

Stomper C shared photos taken at the store at about 8.35pm.

She said: "It was very crowded.

"There were queues to enter the supermarket and queues for the cashier and self-checkout.

"Shoppers were everywhere."

She added that there were also store-exclusive deals and grand opening promotions.

The Northpoint City outlet is Don Don Donki's 13th store in Singapore and since it is located near Mandai Wildlife Reserves, the outlet has adopted a Safari theme.

However, the crowds were a turn-off to some shoppers.

C said: "My mum and I decided to go walk walk see see.

"It's a big store with a generous selection.

"However, it was super crowded so in the end, we did not buy anything and just left.

"My mum joked that I wasted her time and bus fare.

"Maybe I will return another day when the hype dies down."
