Grass patch catches fire near Ang Mo Kio block

A grass patch caught fire near Block 510 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 in the early hours of Sunday morning (Feb 17).

Stomper Mani alerted Stomp to the fire and shared a video he took at the scene, showing a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officer arriving and putting out the flames with a water jet.

In response to a Stomp media query, the SCDF said it responded to the fire at about 2.50am.

"The fire was extinguished by SCDF using one water jet," a spokesman said.

There were no reported injuries.
