Fire breaks out at Tiong Bahru coffee shop

A fire broke out at a coffee shop in Tiong Bahru on Saturday morning (Mar 13).

Stompers Georgina and Anonymous alerted Stomp to the fire and shared photos of smoke drifting through the neighbourhood.

"It was super smokey and hard to breathe for those staying around the Kim Tian Road area," said Georgina.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp they were alerted to a fire at Block 18 Jalan Membina at 8am.

"The fire involved a kitchen exhaust duct in a coffee shop," said an SCDF spokesman.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using two water jets."

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
