Female motorcyclist hit by car -- then gets run over by van on AYE

A 29-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she was hit off her motorcycle by a car and then run over by a van.

The incident occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), towards Tuas, on Thursday (Jan 17).

The police, who were alerted to the accident at 5.46pm, said the motorcyclist was conscious when taken to National University Hospital.

Two videos posted by ROADS.sg show how the motorcyclist was hit by a car that was apparently trying to switch lanes.

The impact caused the motorcyclist to be flung off her bike and sent sprawling onto the road, where an oncoming van then ran over her.

Police investigations are ongoing.
