Things could have gone very wrong for a young boy riding a kick scooter near Block 618A Punggol Drive last Friday evening (Nov 1).

Stomper Richard was driving out when the boy suddenly appeared around the corner on his scooter.

"I nearly hit this little boy at a corner," he said.

"I got out of the car to see if his parents were around and guess what? His mum was playing badminton 200 metres away with three other women.

"I went to speak to her and asked her if she knew I almost killed her kid.

"She simply said, 'it's okay'.

"I shouted at her: 'What do you mean, it's okay? What kind of mother are you?'

"He was all alone with no adults or other children with him.

"If I had driven any faster, I would have surely hit him."
