Diner gets heated up over $17.90 mala that doesn't taste like mala at Jurong food court

Food for thought: Does this look like mala hotpot?

That's the question Stomper Saggi would like to ask everyone.

Saggi was left fuming after a disappointing meal from the mala hotpot stall at Cantine food court in Jurong Point shopping mall on Sunday (Sept 3) afternoon.

The Stomper, who paid $17.90 for the food, said: "Does this look like mala?

"It's not my first time eating mala here, but this time round was sooooo disappointing.

"I am familiar with the price and options for mala, so I was okay with ordering. But when I received my food, I was shocked to see the soup.

"My sister and I shared the dish and to our surprise, it didn't taste like mala at all.

"I approached the counter to double confirm my order and they insisted it was mala. But to be honest, it tasted more like Maggi curry powder instead of real mala."
