A couple was arrested for taking videos at a police station at New Bridge Road.
The police said in a statement that they received a report on Aug 4 that two videos showing footage taken at the police station had been posted on social media.
Following the report, the police arrested a 41-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman separately for their alleged involvement in taking the videos.
The man was charged on Aug 5 for making a video recording of a protected area without the permission of the authority of that protected area. The offence allegedly took place on Aug 1.
The woman will be charged on Aug 8 for two offences which allegedly took place on July 13 and Aug 1.
The police said that a police station is a declared protected area under the Infrastructure Protection Act. It is an offence to take photos, or make any film or video recording of a police station without the permission of the authority of that protected area.
If convicted, they may be jailed for up to two years, fined up to $20,000, or both.
The police said they want to remind members of the public to refrain from taking photographs or filming in any protected areas and protected places without permission of the authority.
