Stomper Lim was shocked when he saw workers dumping rubbish in a protected area at Springleaf Nature Park, located at Upper Thomson Road.

He witnessed the workers carrying the rubbish from a lorry and leaving them at the edge of a forested area.

The rubbish was dumped behind a red signboard that clearly states that the area is protected and that there is "no admittance to unauthorised persons".

Said the Stomper:

"I live nearby and have seen these workers doing the same thing on four other occasions.

"This time, I wanted to get a closer look so I got out of my car and took some photos.

"I don't think this is right.

"I have informed the National Environment Agency (NEA) regarding this matter."

According to the NEA, illegal dumping of waste of any kind is a serious offence as it pollutes the environment and can be a hazard to public health.

Members of the public can report illegal dumping cases here.
