64-year-old man injured after getting hit by lorry while jaywalking at Jalan Besar

A 64-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was hit by a lorry while jaywalking across Jalan Besar on Thursday morning (Jan 24).

A video of the incident was posted on ROADS.sg's Facebook page.

In the video, the man is seen walking across two lanes when the lorry approaching him suddenly changes lanes to the right.

The screeching of tyres can be heard as the driver knocks the man over with the left side of his vehicle.

In response to media queries, the police said they were alerted to the accident at about 7.20am.

The pedestrian was conscious when taken to Raffles Hospital.

The Straits Times understands that the man experienced pains in his hip and right shoulder.

Police investigations are ongoing.
