A 36-year-old man was arrested on Thursday (Jan 7) for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon.
The police were alerted to a case on Tuesday (Jan 5) at 4.15pm where a male victim was allegedly slashed by an unknown man using a knife along Geylang Road.
The 25-year-old victim was conscious when conveyed to Raffles Hospital.
The police said in a statement that through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him.
The man will be charged in court on Friday (Jan 8) with voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
"We have zero tolerance towards such acts of violence, and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law," added the police.
