A Honda driver was caught on camera failing to stop for a woman who wanted to cross the road in Tiong Bahru last Tuesday (Jan 14).

Stomper Cheng captured dashcam footage of the incident that occurred at a pedestrian crossing along Tiong Bahru Road, at around 6.35pm.

In the video, the pedestrian can be seen letting the car go past first. She also looked out for traffic on her left and right while crossing the road.

Cheng said: "Honda Shuttle driver, why didn't you stop for the girl to cross the pedestrian crossing? Twelve demerit points and a $200 fine are coming for you.

"I do not understand why you couldn't just stop for a few seconds to let someone pass instead of exposing others to danger by such a inconsiderate act."

According to the Road Traffic Act, drivers who are in the process of turning their vehicles at a road intersection or junction where there is a pedestrian crossing are required to stop and give way to any pedestrian or cyclist who is either crossing or is starting to cross the intersection or junction.
