A total of 30 people were nabbed during a two-day enforcement operation against public entertainment outlets on Aug 6 and 7.
The operation was conducted along Middle Road and South Bridge Road by Central Police Division.
Two licensed public entertainment outlets were found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions and substances suspected to contain controlled drugs were seized.
In a statement on Friday (Aug 9), the police said:
Five men and seven women were arrested for not having a work permit
Two women were arrested for not having a work permit and suspected to be illegal immigrants
Ten women were arrested for not having a work permit and suspected drug-related offences
Five men and one woman were arrested for drug-related offences
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will also be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations Public Entertainments Act
"The police take a serious view against anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement actions against those found breaking the law," they added in their statement.
