A woman was highly disappointed when she found what she believes to be a metal bristle from a wire sponge in her Hokien mee on Sunday (May 2).

Stomper Emma shared she wanted to enjoy her Sunday brunch at Boon Lay Place Market and Food Village so she ordered from Ho Huat Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee stall.

"Barely hafway through the food, I felt something sharp cutting against my tongue," she said.

"I thought it was the sharp edges that broke off from the prawn head and went to spit it out and was disgusted to find a thin metal bristle definitely from the wire sponge used in cleaning.

"I went to show the stall owner and the only response I got was 'oh sorry, will ask them to be careful next time' without even looking at me.

"The hygiene standard and attitude of our hawker places really needs a check sometimes.

"Disappointing."
