Raw chicken seen on 'dirty, wet' floor at Clementi coffee shop stall, SFA investigating

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is investigating an incident in which raw chicken was seen on the floor of a coffee shop in Clementi.

Facebook user Haider Maíl posted a photo on Friday (April 16), showing two whole chickens on the floor of a food stall at Block 325 Clementi Avenue 5.

He wrote: "This is not the first time I saw him place the raw chicken on the dirty wet floor! Today, I managed to snap this pic while waiting for my order to be ready for delivery."

The post has since been shared almost 4,000 times.

In response to a Stomp query, the SFA said it has received feedback and is investigating.

It added: "Food safety is a joint responsibility. While SFA puts in place and enforces the regulatory measures, food operators must play their part by adhering to good food hygiene and preparation practices.

"Members of the public who come across any potentially errant food operator should report to SFA via the online feedback form. As part of the enquiry and gathering of evidence, SFA may engage the feedback provider for more details.

"SFA will not hesitate to take enforcement action against errant food operators if we have obtained sufficient evidence."
