A red Volkswagen Jetta hit the back of a Honda Jazz and sent the latter spinning to a stop in Pasir Ris.

Stompers Lau Lau and Randy alerted Stomp to a video of the accident posted by SG Road Vigilante on Jan 8.

In the dashcam footage, the Jetta appeared to be racing with a white Honda Accord Euro R before the collision.

After overtaking the cam car, the Jetta changed lanes to overtake a van and collided with the Jazz, which came to a stop in front of the Euro R. The Jetta also stopped, but the Euro R went around the Jazz and drove off.

The drivers of the Jetta and Jazz can be seen getting out of their respective cars in the video.

Netizens slammed the drivers of the Jetta and Euro R for racing and causing the accident.

One commented: "So obvious both were racing. Very common in Singapore where some drivers don't like to be overtaken and want to be the Michael Schumacher of the road. The white car may have the last laugh now, but hopefully, Traffic Police will invite both drivers for an evening tea."

Another said: "Jetta uncle came out and waved paiseh to Jazz. Euro R naturally left the scene sheepishly. Must give heavy penalty. Can get people injured seriously."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted on Jan 8 at about 4.40pm to an accident involving two cars at Pasir Ris Drive 3 towards Pasir Ris Drive 12.

Both male drivers, aged 43 and 47, sustained minor injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
