A 40-year-old van driver was arrested for drink driving after an accident with a car at Ubi Avenue 1 on Tuesday night (Jan 24), said police.

The driver of the car and his passenger were taken to hospital.

Stomper Kok said the collision between the Toyota Hiace van and the red Toyota Prius occurred near the Maha Bodhi School entrance.

Sharing videos and photos of the aftermath, he added: "The slippery road after the rain caused this accident to happen."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 9.55pm.

SCDF conveyed two people to Changi General Hospital.

When contacted by Stomp, the police said the 38-year-old male car driver and his 34-year-old male passenger were conscious when taken to the hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
