Aljunied-Hougang Town Council will be engaging a Bedok North resident about precariously placing items at height, resulting in potential killer litter.

This comes after Stomper A reported seeing a potted plant on a laundry rack at Block 525 Bedok North Street 3 on Feb 18, at around 6.15pm.

A photo shows the potted plant placed outside a third-floor window.

In response to a Stomp query, the town council said it has been educating residents on the dangers of items placed precariously on window ledges, parapet walls and laundry racks, or hung on fixtures on ceilings outside windows or beyond corridor parapet walls.

A spokesperson added: "Our educational outreach include newsletters, posters and videos which residents can view by scanning a QR code on the posters. The following is an example of our educational video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ASvWBgEgtQI

"We will also serve advisories when potential killer litter is spotted during routine estate or block inspections and engage the residents concerned.

"The approach to educating residents about the safety hazard posed by killer litter is constantly being looked into to step up the level of awareness.

"The town council will be engaging the owner of the unit concerned about such precarious placing of items on laundry racks."
