Town council advises household against burning offerings at Bukit Panjang staircase landing

Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council has advised a household against burning offerings at a staircase landing at Block 431 Bukit Panjang Ring Road.

A Stomper was shocked when she spotted a resident burning offerings indoors on Friday morning (Oct 16) and sent a photo to Stomp.

"I saw someone burning offerings at the staircase landing between the eleventh and twelfth floor," the Stomper said.

"It is not only polluting the air in the building but it is also a fire hazard."

The Stomper added that this was not the first time he saw this happen.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council said that their property officer-in-charge has spoken to the household involved and advised them against burning offerings at the staircase landing.

"Advisory posters will be put up at the mentioned area as well," added the spokesman.
