A Stomper is grateful to the staff of the Singapore Island Cruise and Ferry Services for ensuring the safety of devotees during the annual pilgrimage to Kusu Island from Oct 15 to Nov 12.

Many of the devotees were elderly with some in wheelchairs.

Sharing a video and photos of staff members helping travellers board the ferry at Marina South Pier, Stomper Alpha said: "Special thanks to all the captains, crew members, medics, security officers, lifeguards who have made the annual Kusu pilgrimage a wonderful experience.

"They assisted devotees visiting Kusu Island in the sun and rain. They provided support. They were helpful.

"They tried their best to make it a safe pilgrimage for all devotees with good cohesive teamwork."

The Straits Timess reported that some 1,000 devotees made the trek to Kusu Island on the first day of the pilgrimage season alone, according to Singapore Island Cruise and Ferry Services.
