Online shopping may be convenient but the risk is you may not get what you paid for.

Stomper Allan had bought a 1TB external hard drive from Lazada for $53 last month.

However, when he received it on Dec 16, he said he "felt something fishy" and knew it was not a real hard drive.

He said: "I opened it up and was shocked to see a thumb drive chip with a metal block to make you feel it’s a hard drive!"

Needless to say, his "hard drive" is a far cry from what it is supposed to look like on the inside.

He told Stomp he made a review to warn others from getting "scammed" as well but it was "rejected"

After reporting the incident to Lazada on Dec 17, he was informed the seller was banned from selling on the platform.

He told Stomp someone came to collect the "fake" hard drive but he is still waiting for his refund to be processed.

When I contacted customer service on Jan 2, they promised me the refund would be issued within two days but four days have passed and still no refund."

Stomp has reached out to Lazada for a response.
