A near-accident between a pedestrian and a BMW driver has led to heated debate about who is in the wrong.

Facebook page SG Road Vigilante posted a video of the incident, which occurred along Alexandra Road on Saturday afternoon (June 19).

In the video, a white car can be seen cutting into the rightmost lane while travelling at high speed, causing a man to jump out of the way and back onto the road divider.

The incident has garnered mixed reactions.

Many netizens slammed the driver for reckless driving, while others felt that the pedestrian had been jaywalking.

Several also questioned why the BMW driver was rushing and said his behaviour was redundant, as he was subsequently seen having to stop for a red light anyway.

A few pointed out that the blame should be equally shared.
