A man was disappointed by the fireworks display in Woodlands to welcome the New Year, calling it "embarrassing".

Stomper North Residents said it was 30 seconds worth of fireworks dragged out to three minutes.

"The entire so-called fireworks display was such a disappointing and embarrassing at the Woodlands Stadium," said the Stomper.

"People there were thinking, what is this fireworks? What a waste of time. There were not much of fireworks. It was just 'some' fireworks ammo firing bit by bit to make up the three minutes. We were dumbfounded.

"Not sure if the rain spoilt some of the fireworks or the vendor was trying to smoke the Marsiling organisers."

The fireworks were the finale of a New Year countdown event called Northbound Fest organised by the Marsiling Community Club (CC).

The Stomper recalled the "spectacular" 10-minute firework display in Woodlands to welcome 2016.

"It really brought the New Year mood to the next level," he said and shared videos of 2024 and 2016 fireworks at Woodlands Stadium.

"Look at the two videos and compare them yourself. These two videos will speak for themselves."

The Stomper said: "Over the years, the standard of the countdown party for the fireworks display in the Woodlands neighbourhood has dropped tremendously.

"This explains why people rush downtown to catch the fireworks. If the neighbourhood countdown party can do better, the town area would not be so overcrowded."
