A car caught fire on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Thursday afternoon (Sept 14).

No injuries were reported.

Two Stompers shared videos of the vehicle in flames on the Woodsville Flyover near the Ministry of Manpower building.

"When we saw it, the front part was burning," said one of the Stompers.

"The female driver managed to get out. When we spotted her, she was already on the other side of the road with some motorcyclists who stopped to render assistance.

"Then two fire engines came to put out the fire."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted at about 2:10pm to the fire along PIE towards Tuas after Central Expressway exit.

The fire, which involved the engine compartment, was extinguished using two hosereels.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, said SCDF.
