Motorcyclist dies after accident with lorry, driver arrested for careless driving causing death

A motorcyclist died after an accident with a lorry near the junction of Bukit Batok Road and Bukit Batok West Ave 7 on Dec 6.

In response to a Stomp query, police said they were alerted to the accident along Bukit Batok Road towards Jurong Town Hall Road at about 8.10am.

"A 48-year-old male motorcyclist was unconscious when conveyed to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away," said police.

Police added that the lorry driver, 48, was arrested for careless driving causing death and investigations are ongoing.

Stomper Ramanathan shared images taken after the accident near a pedestrian crossing.

An ambulance was at the scene and a paramedic can be seen performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on a casualty.

"The image still haunts," said the Stomper.

When contacted by Stomp, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said the casualty was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
