Three men were seen admiring a huge fish they had caught at Alexandra Canal on Wednesday (Aug 2) even though fishing is not allowed in the area.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video of the men at the canal, near Prince Charles Crescent.

"I was walking to the bus stop when I saw these three people fishing at Alexandra Canal, which isn't allowed," she said.

"I feel sad about it because these fish are not for consumption.

"Secondly, because it is not allowed to fish in the canal, I believe a fine can reach up to $3000.

"The video clearly shows the men realising that fishing is not allowed and covering their faces.

"I often see people fishing along the canal, but usually, they walk away when they see someone trying to take a photo or video.

"It would be nice if everyone followed the rules and left the fish alone.

Fishing is permitted at selected reservoirs and waterways. For a list of designated fishing locations, check out PUB's website.

Offenders caught fishing in no-fishing areas can be fined up to $3,000.
