A man was seen fishing along the Sentosa Boardwalk on May 20 even though fishing on the island is strictly prohibited.

Stomper Ian shared with Stomp photos he took of the man with his fishing rod at about 4.30pm.

The Stomper asked: "Is it legal?

"He looked like he was authorised to do so and ignored people walking by."

In response to a Stomp query, the Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) said: "Sentosa is home to an array of fauna and flora.

"To protect the biodiversity, natural environment and the safety of our guests, fishing, poaching or any act causing disturbance or harm to wildlife in Sentosa, is strictly prohibited.

"Should members of the public notice such violations during their visit, they are encouraged to call 1800-RANGERS (1800-726 4377)."

This is not the first time someone has been caught fishing on Sentosa.

In 2017, five men were detained for trespassing after entering a stricted area along the Sentosa Boardwalk to fish.
