A family and their private hire driver got scolded by a man for not preparing a child seat for their toddler who was a passenger in a car.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to a video of the incident that was posted on Facebook.

Stomp then got in touch with Lim Lian Chin William, who posted the video of the incident.

William told Stomp that the incident occurred at about 6.30pm last Saturday (Aug 11), at the pick-up point of the Singapore Zoo.

In the video that was posted by William, the family, which had three children with them, reportedly called for a private hire vehicle.

Of the three children, one of them was in a pram before a woman carried him into the car.

A man is heard telling his family members to "go, go inside" the vehicle.

To which, the woman who was pushing a pram is heard saying, "It's not allowed," although the man continues to usher them into the vehicle.

She is also heard telling him that someone was recording but the man did not seem to have any sort of reaction.

The woman, who had a toddler on her lap, then asked the person who was filming, "What are you doing? Why are you recording?"

The man who was filming then said: "Private [hire] cars without baby seats are not allowed to take babies."

The driver then took out a child seat and passed it to the woman.

When the car started moving off, the man who was filming tailed behind and hollered for them to "put it on before you move off".

At the end of the video, however, the car appears to move off even though the toddler was still on the woman's lap and not secured in the child seat.

In a caption that accompanies the post, the user said that drivers should have a sense of responsibility.

"You are making the job of law-abiding drivers very difficult to do, they will get scolded because of you," he said.

According to the Land Transport Authority, all vehicles in Singapore must have booster seats or child restraints for passengers under 1.35m in height.
