A man was seen fishing outside VivoCity on Sunday (Sept 17) at about 4pm, despite several 'no fishing' signs in the vicinity.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos he took of the man standing with a fishing rod at the boardwalk facing Sentosa.

"A very clear sign next to him says 'no fishing' but he still insists on fishing here at VivoCity," said the Stomper.

"I'm not sure how long he stayed there for but he was with two to three other people.

"He had two fishing rods and kept looking at the fish without bother about the signage."

Fishing is permitted at selected reservoirs and waterways in Singapore. The public may also fish in the sea and at some waterfront parks.

Offenders caught fishing in no-fishing areas can be fined up to $3,000.
