Man arrested after woman he molested while crossing North Bridge Road took photo of him

A 41-year-old man was arrested for suspected outrage of modesty on Aug 25, said police.

Police were alerted to a case where a woman was purportedly molested while crossing the road along North Bridge Road at about 5.25pm.

The woman managed to take a photo of the man, which was useful information that she provided to the police when she reported the incident.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within one hour from the report.

Investigations are ongoing.

The offence of outrage of modesty carries an imprisonment term of up to two years, a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
