Man arrested 4 days after motorcycle reported stolen from Bukit Batok multi-storey carpark

A 22-year-old man was arrested for stealing a motorcycle from a multi-storey carpark along Bukit Batok Street 24.

Police said they received a report of the theft on April 20 at about 7.45pm.

Through follow-up investigationsĀ and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on Monday (April 24).

The man was to be charged in court on Wednesday with theft of a motor vehicle which carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine.

All motorcycle owners are advised to adopt the following crime-prevention measures:

  • Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas.
  • Install an anti-theft alarm for your motorcycle.
  • Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle, securing both ends.
  • Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install a suspension guard.
  • Remove the ignition key and lock the motorcycle, whenever it is left unattended.
  • Do not leave spare keys inside the motorcycle storage box.
