Man, 40, arrested for allegedly molesting woman at Yishun Ring Road

A 40-year-old man was arrested on Monday (Dec 12) for allegedly molesting a woman along Yishun Ring Road in the vicinity of Chong Pang Market & Food Centre.

The police had received a report about the case on December 9, at around 10.15am.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him.

The man will be charged in court on Wednesday with outrage of modesty, which carries a jail term of up to three years and/or caning and/or a fine.

The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community, adding: "Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law."

Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to report the matter to the police immediately, if they witness an incident of outrage of modesty or are aware of someone being a victim of such incidents.
